• THE MINNESOTA CROOKSTON women's basketball team comes into the weekend with a 1-7 (0-3 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles are coming off an 86-76 overtime loss to Bemidji State University at home. The Golden Eagles enter a road week as they take on the University of Mary Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m., and Minot State University Saturday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles are seeking their first road wins of the 2025-26 slate. Minnesota Crookston is averaging 65.4 points per game, while allowing 78.3 to their foes. The Golden Eagles are shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 70.5 percent from the foul line. Minnesota Crookston is being outrebounded 41.9-33.0 by their foes. They are tallying 14.5 turnovers per game, compared to 12.5 for their opponents.
• IT'S EMMA. Miller, the 5-1 senior from Albertville, Minn., has made a name for herself in the NSIC, regionally, and nationally. The two-time All-NSIC First Team selection, and All-Region honoree, set the Minnesota Crookston scoring record against Black Hills State, surpassing Jamie Zelinsky. Miller currently has 1,818 career points. She is also moving up on the charts for all-time scoring in the NSIC. She is currently eighth all-time in the NSIC in conference scoring with 1,314 points. Brooke Olson of Minnesota Duluth currently holds the record. Miller is averaging 18.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. She is shooting 34.7 percent from the field, 22.0 percent from distance, and 72.5 percent from the line.
• JENKINS JOTTINGS.
Riley Jenkins, a 5-10 wing from Galesburg, Ill., enters the weekend averaging 10.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting 41.2 percent from the field, and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc. Jenkins has 478 career points as a Golden Eagle and needs just 22 points to move past the 500-point milestone. She was an All-NSIC Second Team pick in 2024-25 and is looking to continue that production in 2025-26. Jenkins has a season-high 17 points this season, tallying the mark against Northern Michigan December 30. She has scored in double figures in five games. Jenkins had a season-high seven assists against Minnesota Duluth, and notched six assists versus the Bulldogs, as well.
• FIRE AND RAYNA.
Rayna Klejeski, a six-foot junior from Barnum, Minn., has been a key piece for the Golden Eagles in the post as she has made substantial improvement in her third season in the program. Klejeski comes into the week averaging 11.8 points, and 5.9 boards per game. Klejeski is shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 70.0 percent on 10 attempts from trey, and 82.9 percent from the stripe. Klejeski has three-straight double-digit scoring games. She had back-to-back 15 point games against Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State. Klejeski has secured eight boards on four occasions this season. She will continue to be vital in the post for Minnesota Crookston.
• EAST AND WESTBY.
Anna Westby, a freshman from Eveleth, Minn., has jumped right on the scene as a freshman for the Golden Eagles. Westby comes in averaging 9.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.25 blocks per game. Westby is shooting 42.3 percent from the field during her freshman season. She comes into Thursday with five double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 16 points against Bemidji State Saturday on 6-of-8 from the field. Westby has struggled a bit with foul trouble this season, fouling out of four games. She had a career-high 12 boards against MSU Moorhead November 25.
• TRUST ON HOPE. Redshirt junior
Hope Dudycha, a 5-5 native of Austin, Minn., has been a key player for the Golden Eagles over the last few seasons. Dudycha is coming off a great game against Bemidji State, in which she scored 16 points on 6-of-11 from the field, and perfect 4-of-4 from distance. Dudycha has two games with double-digit scoring, with 13 points against Northern Michigan November 30. She comes in averaging 5.9 points per game on 36.7 percent from the field, and 43.5 percent from beyond the arc.
• T HANKS. Junior transfer
Tayden Hanks is an important player off the bench so far for the Golden Eagles. Hanks is coming off her best game for Minnesota Crookston, as she came off the bench against Bemidji State for 11 points on 5-of-7 from the field, and 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. Hanks, a Los Lunas, N.M., native, is averaging 2.5 points and 1.5 boards per game in 11.8 minutes per tilt. Hanks is shooting 50.0 percent from the field.
ON THE ROAD. Minnesota Crookston is seeking their first road win of the 2025-26 season, as they embark on
Bismarck and Minot for a pair of games. The Golden Eagles come in with a 1-3 mark at home, and an 0-3 mark on the road, and 0-1 in neutral site games. Their closest road game was an 11-point loss at Nebraska Kearney November 14.
• CONFERENCE PLAY. Minnesota Crookston has opened NSIC play with an 0-3 mark. They fell on the road to MSU Moorhead 74-58, and Minnesota Duluth 76-54. The Golden Eagles lost in overtime at home versus Bemidji State 86-76 last Saturday. They will look for their first conference win this week as they face UMary and Minot State.
• AGAINST UMARY. The Marauders have won the last four games in the series. UMary leads the series all-time 25-10. Minnesota Crookston's last win came at home with a 78-64 result December 31, 2022. The Golden Eagles have lost their last six games in Bismarck, dating back to a 72-67 win at McDowell Activity Center February 17, 2018. They have five wins in Bismarck since beginning the series with UMary in 2007.
• AGAINST MINOT STATE. Minnesota Crookston leads the all-time series with Minot State 12-11. The Beavers won the last game against Minnesota Crookston 59-56 in Crookston January 29, 2025. Minnesota Crookston won in Minot November 26, 2024 with a 70-63 victory. Minnesota Crookston is 4-2 in their last six games with Minot State. The Golden Eagles are 1-5 in their last six games in Minot. They have four wins all-time at the MSU Dome in Minot.
UMARY. The Marauders have had a hot start to the season with a 10-3 (2-1 NSIC) mark. UMary is coming off a 60-58 loss at the University of Jamestown last Saturday. They have conference wins over Minot State and Northern State. UMary comes into the week outscoring their foes by over 10 points per game, averaging 73.6 points per contest. The Marauders had the same starting lineup for every game up until the Jamestown game where they were missing leading scorer Bergan Kinnebrew. Emily Jaenke got the start in Kinnebrew's absence. UMary comes in shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.2 percent from the line. They are allowing teams to hit at a 39.3 percent clip, but have a strong three-point defense as foes are connecting on just 27.5 percent of their outside shots.
WATCH OUT FOR BERGAN. Bergan Kinnebrew, a 5-11 junior guard, is the most productive player on the UMary team. She is the team's leading scorer by nearly 12 points a game. Kinnebrew comes in averaging 23.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. She is shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from three on 38 attempts, and is a phenomenal free throw shooter at a 90.4 percent clip on 83 shots. Kinnebrew missed the team's last game against Jamestown.
ALLISON UNDLIN UNDERNEATH. Allison Undlin, a 6-3 redshirt sophomore, leads UMary in the post. She comes in averaging 11.8 points per game, which is second on the team. Undlin is very efficient underneath, as she is hitting at a 57.1 percent clip from the field. Undlin has just 10 three-point attempts this season, hitting five. She is also leading the team with 7.7 rebounds per game, and is a nuisance defensively as a rim protector with 27 blocked shots.
DON'T LOOK TOO PFAU. Chloe Pfau has been a big piece of the puzzle for UMary this season, with 9.2 points per game. She is shooting 33.3 percent with the team's most attempts from deep with 60. Pfau is also an 81.3 percent free throw shooter. The 5-11 guard is coming off 10 points against Jamestown. She has five double-digit scoring games this season.
MINOT STATE. Minot State has started the 2025-26 season with a 4-6 (1-2 NSIC) mark. The Beavers are coming off a 68-62 loss at Northern State. They had a win over Jamestown last Thursday, scoring 97 points. A stat that sticks out for Minot State is their three-point margin as they are hitting at a 34.7 percent rate on 277 shots this season, compared to just 27.6 percent for their foes. They are averaging 69.4 points compared to 69.0 for their opponents. Minot State has rolled out the same starting five in all 10 games with Taryn Hamling, Maya Aguilar, Tiyahna Trottier, Jessica Mogen, and Lara Dobbins.
HONE IN ON HAMLING. Taryn Hamling, a 5-9 North Dakota State transfer, has been the key player for Minot State this season. She is a redshirt sophomore and comes in averaging 15.3 points per game. Hamling is also tallying 3.7 rebounds per game. She is hitting at a 42.7 percent clip from the field, and 37.7 percent from deep. Hamling will be a key player to slow down for Minnesota Crookston.
ALL ABOUT AGUILAR. Maya Aguilar, a 5-9 junior from Minot, comes in averaging 13.1 points per game. She is also hitting at a 42.7 percent clip from the field. She is also a major threat from deep, hitting at a 35.5 percent clip on 62 shots. Aguiliar has eight double-digit scoring games, including 18 points against Western Washington. She had 17 in a win over Jamestown.
TROTTIER INSIDE. Tiyahna Trottier, a 6-1 transfer from Lake Region State, is a factor inside for Minot State with 11.5 points per game. She is also a threat outside hitting at a 41.9 percent clip on 31 shots. Trottier is a 50.0 percent shooter from the field, and is also averaging 3.4 rebounds per game.
