Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles and Bulldogs returned for today's second game of the series, the Golden Eagles dominated every phase of the game, winning 10-0. In net for the Golden Eagles was Tyler Swanson (So., G, Moorhead, Minn.) who entered today's match with a 4-1-0 record, a 1.80 goals against average and a .930 save percentage. For the Bulldogs, it was Ashton Peterson with a 1-4-0 record, a 6.00 goals against average, and a .864 save percentage.

It was an all Golden Eagle first period, and Anthony Foster (Jr., F, Warroad, Minn.) scored the first goal of the game at just under two minutes into the opening period. Five minutes later, Fox Dodds (5th, F, Watford City, N.D.) fired home a goal with Alexander Bailey (5th, D, Crosby, N.D.) assisting on the goal. Peterson would shut down the Golden Eagles attack for a while after that, but with two and a half minutes left, Ben Hines (Jr., F, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) ripped a shot from a ridiculous angle to put the Golden Eagles up 3-0. Mason Romfo (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) put home his ninth goal of the season after a great net front pass from Braden Van de Kraats (So., F, Medicine Hat, Alberta), Steven Musokranov (Jr., D, Plymouth, Minn.) had the second assist. The Golden Eagles took a 4-0 lead into the first intermission.

The second period was more tame in the goal scoring department with just two goals, but they were still both scored by the Golden Eagles. Eight minutes in, Connor Hanson (Fr., F, Warren, Minn.) got to the front of the net and pushed the puck in for his first career goal, Ben Hines and Riley Benson (Fr., D, Mentor, Minn.) had the assists. A minute and a half later, Mason Romfo scored his second goal of the game, with Tyler Lorenz (So., D, Shakopee, Minn.) assisting. The Golden Eagles were outscoring the Bulldogs 6-0 and outshooting them 44-11 at second intermission.

The third period was yet another dominant period, with four more Golden Eagle goals. The first goal was scored by Mason Romfo for a hat trick just 42 seconds in, Anthony Foster assisted. Five minutes later, Ben Hines had his second of the game, Jackson Dodds (5th, F, Watford City, N.D.) and Fox Dodds had the assists. Despite a 10 minute break between goals, the Golden Eagles still had all the momentum in their favor. They outshot the Bulldogs 19-2 in the third period. Steven Musokranov, with around four minutes remaining, rifled a shot at the net for his first goal of the season. Tyler Lorenz and Thomas Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) were awarded the assists. The last goal of the game was scored by Rudy Moser (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) for his first goal of the season, with Alexander Bailey and Thomas Fuller collecting assists.

The Golden Eagles completed the blowout win 10-0, outshooting the Bulldogs 63-13. Swanson earned his first shutout of the season and the third of his career. The Golden Eagles are back in action a week from today, Saturday, November 29th at 5 p.m. as they host Dakota College at Bottineau to open the weekend series. Game two of the series will be Sunday at noon.
