Crookston, Minn. – Saturday afternoon in Crookston was all Sioux Falls in NSIC volleyball action, as they cruised to a three-set win over Minnesota Crookston (13-25, 13-25, 14-25).
Minnesota Crookston falls to 6-16 on the season.
Set One
USF would jump out to a quick 7-0 run, but
Ellery Ehresmann would (Fr., S, Albany, Minn.) finish a kill to make it 7-1.
USF would extend their lead to 16-3 and the Golden Eagles would try and chip away, but USF would win the set by 12.
Set Two
Set two would be a better start as
Madison Carsten (Jr., OH, Wadena, Minn.) and
Emma Malek (Jr., MH, Plainfield, Ill.) would each finish off kills to tie the set at two.
USF would make it 11-3, but would see their lead shrink to 11-6 following a 3-0 Golden Eagle run.
Minnesota Crookston would get within six at 15-9 following an Ehresmann service ace, but that's as close as they would get in the second set loss.
Set Three
It would be another fast start for USF, as they would get off to a quick 7-0 lead, which would turn into a 7-1 lead following a
Carizma Muth (R-So., OH, Randolph, Minn.) kill.
USF would win the set by 11 at 25-14 for the three-set win.
Individual Stats
Muth led the way with seven kills on 27 total attacks, while Carsten added six kills.
Dana Melby (R-Sr., S, Gonvick, Minn.) finished with nine digs and eight assists.

The Golden Eagles will head to Sioux Falls to take on Augustana for a Friday night match starting at 6 PM.
