Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles are preparing to wrap up their 2024-2025 homeslate with the Huskies in town. The Golden Eagles have been nearly unbeatable at home this season, boasting a 10-1-0 record. They have scored 82 goals on home ice, averaging 7.45 goals per game. The game on Saturday will also be our Senior Day, where we will honor all of our senior hockey players, the game will double as a white-out.

The Golden Eagles and Huskies have faced off six times in program history, with the Golden Eagles earning a 5-1-0 record. They have scored 41 goals in those six games, averaging 6.83 goals per game. The Golden Eagles have allowed 16 goals, averaging 2.66 goals against per game. The average margin of victory for the University of Minnesota Crookston is 5.6.

The Golden Eagles Player to Watch is Zach Larson (Sr., D, Grand Forks, N.D.) who will be playing in his final home games as a Golden Eagle. Larson has been with the Golden Eagles since the program returned in 2020, and is one of just two current Golden Eagles from that roster. Larson has been a major contributor from the blue line this season, with six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 17 games. The senior defenseman has been one of the most consistent Golden Eagles during his tenure, scoring 36 goals and 52 assists for 88 points in 85 games.Â

The Golden Eagles are looking to make it eight straight wins, and only have four games left before the WCCHA Tournament, and the matchup with St. Cloud will be a tough one, they enter the weekend with a 5-4-0 conference record and an overall record of 10-8-1. The Huskies are currently fighting for a spot in the conference tournament, which will take place February 7th through the 9th.
