Crookston, Minn. – Minnesota Crookston hockey had a third period onslaught for the second straight night, leading the Golden Eagles to a 7-2 win over Minnesota Duluth and a sweep of the Bulldogs.

The Golden Eagles have won six in a row and move to 16-4-0 on the season.

It didn't take long for the lid to be lifted, as the Bulldogs would strike first, just 21 seconds into the game for a 1-0 lead.

Minnesota Crookston would answer with two straight goals, as Jackson Dodds (R-Jr., F, Watford City, N.D.) and Mason Romfo (Fr., F, Langdon, Minn.) would each light the lamp for a 2-1 lead.

The Bulldogs would score early in the first and late in the first, as they would knot things up at two heading into the first intermission.

The second period wouldn't see a ton of offense. The game would be tied at two, but Alexander Bailey (R-Jr., D, Crosby, N.D.) would score for the second straight night and make it 3-2, with just six seconds left in the intermission.

The third period would once again go the way of the hometown team. The Golden Eagles would score four times in the final 20 minutes, pulling away for the 7-2 win.

Anthony Foster (So., F, Warroad, Minn.) had a monster weekend, finishing with seven points, including four in the win this afternoon. Ho, hum, it was just another three point night for the freshman Romfo, who finished with two goals and an assist in the win. Bailey and Jackson Dodds (R-Jr., F, Watford City, N.D.) each finished with two points in the win.

The Golden Eagles outshot the Bulldogs 45-15 in the game and didn't allow a shot on goal to the Bulldogs in the second period.

The game also saw a bevy of whistles, as both teams combined for 12 penalties in the game.

Tyler Swanson (Fr., G, Moorhead, Minn.) was good in goal, finishing with 13 saves on 15 Bulldog attempts.
