Sioux Center, Iowa – It was day two at the ASB Sports Complex for the Golden Eagles in Sioux Center, Iowa, as the Golden Eagles took on Southwest Minnesota State to continue NSIC play on Monday afternoon.
Southwest Minnesota State scored three unanswered runs to knock off the Golden Eagles in game one.
Game two would see a lot more offense. Unfortunately for the maroon and gold, it would be the Mustangs who would do all the scoring, winning the game in five innings, 8-0.
The Golden Eagles fall to 7-21 (0-4 NSIC) on the season.
Game One
It would be a good start for the Golden Eagles in the top half of the first inning, as they would strike first on a

Paige Shwaluk (Sr., MIF, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba).
SMSU would strike right back for a run of their own in the bottom half of the first.
In the top half of the second, the Golden Eagles would use a pair of errors by the Mustangs to load the bases with just one out, but the Golden Eagles wouldn't scrape a run across, keeping the game tied at one.
The Mustangs would take the lead for good in the bottom of the second, using a pair of singles to take a 3-1 lead.
That 3-1 score would hold up, as the Golden Eagles would get two runners on with two outs in the seventh inning, but they were unable to tie the game up, falling to the Mustangs, 3-1.
