CROOKSTON, Minn. - University of Minnesota Crookston soccer coach Neil Mancktelow announced his resignation as head soccer coach for the Golden Eagles. Mancktelow spent the past two seasons as head coach for Minnesota Crookston, and spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach for the Golden Eagles.
"We thank Neil for his commitment to the Minnesota Crookston soccer program for the last three seasons and wish him the best in his next endeavors. We have seen improvement in the soccer team during his time in Crookston, and we are excited to continue to see that growth in the next chapter of the program." said Director of Athletics Stephanie Helgeson.
Mancktelow's program saw growth in 2024, as they picked up their first results in two seasons during the most recent campaign. Minnesota Crookston's season was highlighted by Jordan Metz (Fr., GK, Lino Lakes, Minn.) becoming the first goalkeeper since 2014 to win NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week, and by Brooklyn Fischbach (Sr., F, South St. Paul, Minn.) earning All-NSIC Second Team. Fischbach was the first Golden Eagle since 2021 to receive All-NSIC honors. In the classroom, Minnesota Crookston had 12 student-athletes earn recognition on the 2024 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team. The Golden Eagles had three student-athletes named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2023, and had one student-athlete earn NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction during the 2023 season.
Minnesota Crookston will begin a search for the next coach of the soccer program immediately.
