SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team wrapped up their 2022-23 season by finishing 10
th out of 13 teams at the 2023 NSIC Women's Golf Championship at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex.
The Golden Eagles had their best finish since the NSIC expanded teams prior to the 2008-09 season. Since 2008-09, they finished no higher than 11
th. Minnesota Crookston shot rounds of 358, 363, and 365. The Golden Eagles defeated Upper Iowa University by four strokes. They also upended Minnesota State University Moorhead, and Bemidji State University.
Anaka Lysne (Fr., Wahpeton, N.D.) tied for 20
th with rounds of 86, 81, and 82.
Clara Hanson (So., Grand Forks, N.D.) shot rounds of 86, 88, and 88.
Lauren Bowyer (Fr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) carded rounds of 93, 97, and 101.
Denali Johnson (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.) shot rounds of 98, 97, and 99.
Tiffany Kozojed (Sr., Hillsboro, N.D.) posted rounds of 93, 106, and 96.
Augustana University won the individual title with an overall score of 932. They beat Winona State University by nine strokes. Concordia-St. Paul golfer Isabella Dory was the individual champion after shooting rounds of 73, 71, and 78.
