Minnesota Crookston Drops a Pair at Augustana

Sioux Falls, S.D. – Minnesota Crookston lost a pair of games on Sunday in Sioux Falls to Augustana.
 
The Golden Eagles fall to 16-27 on the season with the doubleheader loss.
 
Game One
In game one, Augustana would jump out to a quick start, taking a 10-0 lead in the first four innings.
 
The Golden Eagles would try and answer back in the top of the fifth. The Golden Eagles would load the bases and would eventually score a run on a Paige Shwaluk (Jr., MIF, Portage la Prairie, Minn.) walk, scoring Reagan Emerick (R-So., MIF, Macomb, Ill.). That would be the lone run for the Golden Eagles on the day.
 
The Vikings would win game one, 10-1.
 
Shaelyn Grant (Jr., C/OF, Grand Junction, Colo.) and Dana Zarn (Sr., IF, Winnipeg, Manitoba) collected the lone two hits in the game for the maroon and gold.
 
Gracelynn Kelly (Fr., P, Black Hawk, S.D.) gave up 10 runs on 10 hits and picked up the loss.
 
Game Two
Game two would be all Vikings, who would win the game 18-0.
 
Grant would collect the lone Golden Eagle hit, going 1-2 in the game.
 
Evie Stuck (So., P/OF, Papillion, Neb.) fell to 2-9 on the season after giving up four earned runs in an inning of work.
 
What's Next
It's a quick turnaround for the Golden Eagles, who will head to Duluth, Minn., for a date with the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth. The doubleheader starts 12 P.M., on Tuesday.
