Minot, N.D. – Minot State cruised to a victory over Minnesota Crookston in men's basketball on Saturday afternoon, 87-53, after taking a 28 point lead into halftime.
The Golden Eagles fall to 2-22 (1-17 NSIC) on the season.
The Beavers would jump out to a quick 7-0 start, but
Chandler Meeks (Fr., G, Omaha, Neb.) buried a three to cut the lead to four at 7-3.
The Beavers would take control with a 26-7 lead, but
De'Antray Hughes (Jr., F, New Orleans, La.) would convert an old-fashioned three point play to cut the lead to 16.
Minot State would lead 46-18 heading into halftime.
The Beavers would continue to run away with the game in the second half, leading them to the 34 point win.
Blaize Sagna (So., G, London, England) finished with 16 points and four steals.
Ron Kirk, Jr. (So., G, Milwaukee, Wis.) added eight points, while Hughes tallied seven points and five rebounds in the game.
The Golden Eagles will host nationally-ranked MSU Moorhead next Friday night as part of alumni weekend. Tip-off with the Dragons is set for 5:30 P.M.
