Three-Point Makes Propel Wolves to Win over Golden Eagles

Crookston, Minn. – Playing with only eight healthy players, Minnesota Crookston fought hard, but fell to nationally-ranked Northern State, 93-68.

The Golden Eagles fall to 2-24 (1-9 NSIC) on the season and will wrap-up their season next weekend.

Playing in his penultimate home game, Rambo Badyal (Sr., G, Kelowna, British Columbia) would score the first five points of the game.

An Xzavier Jones (Jr., G, Milwaukee, Wis.) three and Badyal layup would make it a four-point game midway through the half.

From that point, NSU would go on a 15-0 run, which would be halted by a Jones three and a De'Antray Hughes (R-Jr., F, New Orleans, La.) layup. Hughes would have a career-night.

After trailing by as many as 19 in the first half, the Golden Eagles would trail by just 12 heading into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Golden Eagles would do a decent job of sticking around, but the Wolves would prove to be too dangerous from behind the arc, pulling away for the 25 point victory.

Hughes finished with his second double-double of the season, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds. The 22 points were a career-high. Jones added 21, after finishing with a career-high 23 a night ago. On senior night, Badyal was terrific, adding 18 points on 7-15 from the field.

The Golden Eagles will close out the home portion of the schedule on Thursday night against Minnesota Duluth. Tip-off is set for 5:30 P.M.
