Bottineau, N.D. - Both the Golden Eagles and the Jacks entered today's game with different starters in net. The Jacks would turn to Ryan Labrie while the Golden Eagles made the switch to Adam Goody (Fr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) who came in with a record of 4-2-0.

Nathan Ayotte (Fr., F, St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) got things started early as he scored just over five minutes into the opening frame off of assists from Jackson Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) and Jake Huska (Sr., D, Preeceville, Saskatchewan) who earned his 96th career point with the assist. Just four minutes later Tristan Morneault (Sr., F, Dieppe, New Brunswick) scored his second goal of the season from a Zach Larson (Sr., D, Grand Forks, N.D.) assist to put the Golden Eagles ahead 2-0 early on. With just under six minutes to play in the first period, Ethan Siemens brought the game within one and that is how the period would end.

32 seconds into the second period, Logan Syrup (Jr., F, Park River, N.D.) put the Golden Eagles back up by two as Huska added his second assist of the day. The goal scoring took a break for a large portion of the second period before the Golden Eagles poured it on. Spencer Dahlquist (Sr., D, Maple Grove, Minn.) was the one who got the late period scoring start as he put home his second goal of the assist as Larson added his second assist of the game and Morneault added his second point.Â

Logan Syrup would add his second goal of the game with just 3:32 to play in the second, three minutes after the goal from Dahlquist, as Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) got the assist to help the Golden Eagles get to a 5-1 lead. With just 57 seconds remaining in the second period, Fox Dodds (Jr., F, Watford City, N.D.) made the game 6-1 as Syrup and Dahlquist each added another point with assists.

Logan Syrup would score the hat trick goal just 37 seconds into the final frame on an assist from Fox Dodds. This was Syrup's second hat trick of the season and the seventh of his career. With just under five minutes to play, Fabian Vik scored the Jacks second goal to make the game 7-2. Zach Larson would score just around two minutes later to give the Golden Eagles their six goal lead back on an assist from Dylan Neubauer (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.)Â

The Golden Eagles had six different player put up multi point games as Jake Huska had two assists, Tristan Morneault had a goal and an assist, Zach Larson had a goal and two assists, Logan Syrup had three goals and an assist, Spencer Dahlquist had a goal and an assist, and Fox Dodds had a goal and an assist. Adam Goody was stellar in net as he made 24 saves on 26 shots against, earning a .923 save percentage.Â

The Golden Eagles will next play January 12th as they return from winter break. They will travel to St. Cloud, Minn. as they take on the Huskies.
