Golden Eagle Soccer to Face Minot State, UMary in Road Tests

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team heads to Minot State University and the University of Mary for a pair of NSIC road tilts this weekend. The Golden Eagles will face the Beavers Friday, October 13 in Minot, N.D., at 5 p.m. The U of M Crookston will wrap up the weekend Sunday, October 15 in Bismarck, N.D., at 1 p.m.

The Golden Eagles come into the weekend with a 0-11 (0-7 NSIC) mark. Minot State is one spot ahead of the U of M Crookston with a 4-6-1 (1-5-1 NSIC) record. UMary is slotted right ahead of Minot State with a 2-6-3 (1-4-2 NSIC) record.

Minnesota Crookston had their most shots this season with 12 against Minnesota State University Moorhead Sunday. The Golden Eagles are looking for their first goal since September 15 against Bemidji State University. Brooklyn Fischbach (Jr., F, South St. Paul, Minn.) leads the team with two goals. The U of M Crookston is notching 5.6 shots per game, compared to 24.7 shots per tilt for their foes. Their opponents are averaging 3.91 goals per game. Sarah Burgum (So., F, Mandan, N.D.), Marsia Green (Fr., F, Waconia, Minn.), and Autumn Rabe (Fr., F, Kewaskum, Wis.) each have one assist. The U of M Crookston had their closest game earlier this season in non-conference play against Minot State. They lost 2-1 to the Beavers. Fischbach scored one of her two goals against Minot State.

In goal, Abby Olsen is second in the nation for NCAA Division II for saves per game. Olsen is averaging 3.89 goals per game allowed. She has 103 saves this season.

Minot State 

Minot State boasts a 4-6-1 (1-5-1 NSIC) mark. The Beavers lone win in the NSIC came with a 2-1 win over the University of Mary. Minot State defeated Minnesota Crookston 2-1 September 3 in non-conference play. The two sides were tied 1-1 late in the second half, but a Jessica Groen goal in the 72nd minute gave the Beavers the edge. 

The Beavers are scoring 0.64 goals per tilt, while allowing 1.00 goal per game. Minot State is tallying 8.4 shots per game, and allowing 9.6 shots per tilt.

Yossi Villagrana leads Minot State with three goals. Iliana Rivera has a goal, and an assist. Brooklyn Casey, Groen, and Lola Onsurez all have tallies. 

In goal, Siriana Gudino has started nine games. She has a 1.00 goals against average, with 33 saves.

UMary 

The Marauders come into the weekend with a 2-6-3 (1-4-2 NSIC) record. UMary has a conference win over Southwest Minnesota State University. UMary is notching 0.64 goals per game, while giving up 1.18 goals per tilt. They are averaging 11.3 shots per game, compared to 10.0 per tilt for their foes.

UMary is propelled by MaLiah Burke, with two goals, and an assist. Mo Malone has one goal, and three assists. Ava Vizenor has a goal, and an assist.

In the net, Molly Fischer has started all 11 games. She has a 1.18 goals against average, with 47 saves.
