WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team fell 11-0 to Saint Anselm College Thursday, March 17 at Diamondplex in Winter Haven, Fla. The Hawks were guided by a no-hitter from Haile Hicks.
The Golden Eagles fell to 8-12 with Thursday's loss, while Saint Anselm improved to 4-6.
Evie Stuck (Fr., RHP, Papillion, Neb.) started the game and went five innings. She tossed five innings, allowing three earned runs, with three strikeouts, and two walks.
Kamryn Frisk (R-Sr., RHP, Anchorage, Alaska) came on in relief, and went one inning, giving up two earned runs on three hits.
Hicks went six innings, with six strikeouts, and one walk, in the complete game no-hit shutout.
The Hawks were guided by Cain Bailey, who went 3-of-3, with three RBIs, and three runs scored. Kate Irwin was 2-of-4. Kylie Fitzpatrick was 1-of-2, with two RBIs, and a run scored.
Minnesota Crookston will play Pace University Friday March 18 at 3 p.m. C.T., and Shepherd University Friday, March 18 at 5:15 p.m. at Diamondplex in Winter Haven, Fla.
