WINONA, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Winona State University Sunday, October 17 at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winona, Minn.
The Golden Eagles drop to 1-12-0 (1-9-0 NSIC) with Sunday's loss. Winona State improved to 4-7-1 (3-6-1 NSIC) with the victory.
UMN Crookston finished with five shots and five shots on goal Sunday. Winona State notched 27 shots and 20 shots on goal.
Madelyn Teplansky (So., MF, Apple Valley, Calif.) paced Minnesota Crookston with three shots on goal.
Brooklyn Fischbach (Fr., MF, South St. Paul, Minn.) and
Abby Fettinger (Fr., MF/F, White Bear Lake, Minn.) each had shots on goal.
Abby Olsen (So., GK, Chisago City, Minn.) got the start and allowed four goals and notched seven games.
Emma Stempien (Fr., GK, Plymouth, Mich.) played the second half, allowing two goals and tallying seven saves.
Abigail Williams and Missy Greco led the Warriors with two goals apiece. Ella Roberts and Madyson Dye also notched goals.
Yanel Ortiz picked up the shutout in goal with five saves for Winona State.
Williams put the Warriors on the scoreboard in the first minute with a goal off a Camryn Cadiz assist.
At the six minute mark, Greco scored after putting back a penalty kick miss.
Greco scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Williams in the 19
th minute.
In the 39
th minute, Roberts put away an unassisted goal.
In the 87
th minute, Dye scored an unassisted tally. In the final minute, Williams scored to put Winona State up 6-0.
Minnesota Crookston returns home to host the University of Sioux Falls Friday, October 22 at 3 p.m.
