Aberdeen, S.D.— After falling on Friday night to nationally ranked Northern State, the Golden Eagles were looking to upset the No. 2 Wolves on Saturday night in Wachs Arena in the Saturday night version of a back-to-back.
Down the stretch, the Wolves proved to be too much down the stretch, cruising to an 88-64 win over the Golden Eagles. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 1-5 overall (0-4 NSIC), while the Wolves improve to 6-0 (4-0 NSIC).

For the second straight game, Minnesota Crookston jumped out to a good start, leading 7-3 after a three-ball from
Josh Dilling (Fr., G, Oshkosh, Wis.) and a lay-in from
Ethan Channel (Jr., G, Beaverton, Ore.).
Minnesota Crookston would extend their lead to 16-9, following two of
Quintin Winterfeldt's (So., G, Waupun, Wis.) career-high 15 points.
The Wolves would go on a 7-0 run, but that run would be halted by a
Brian Sitzmann (R-Jr., G, Savage, Minn.) three to retake the lead at 19-16.
After the Golden Eagles would take a 26-21 lead, the Wolves would start to show their muscles, going on an 11-0 run, which was halted by a
Zach Westphal (R-So., G, West Fargo, N.D.) floater.
Leading by six at the half, the Wolves would extend their lead, but a Dilling three and Sitzmann layup would keep the Golden Eagles in striking distance, down by just six.
Midway through the half, the Golden Eagles would trail by 13, but a
Leonard Dixon (Jr., F, Demascus, Ore.) three would cut the lead to 59-49.
After that, the Wolves would pull away, leading by as much as 25 late in the second half.
Key Stats
Sitzmann and Winterfeldt led the way for the Golden Eagles with 15 points apiece, each hitting one three-pointer as well. Dilling continued his solid start to the season, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds in the loss.
Morgan Carter (Jr., F, Porthcawl, Wales) added seven points, while Dixon and Channel scored five and four points each, respectively.
As a team, the Golden Eagles shot 42.1 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from deep. The Golden Eagles committed 14 turnovers on the night.
For the Wolves, they were led by the two-headed monster of Parker Fox, who scored 25 and nine rebounds and Mason Stark, who added 21 points. Four of the five Wolves starters scored double-digits in the win.

The Golden Eagles are back at home next weekend for two games with the Beavers of Minot State. Tip-off will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night at Gary Senske Court at Lysaker Gymnasium.
