Fayette, Iowa—It was a match with yet another ranked team for the Golden Eagles volleyball team, this time with No. 23 Upper Iowa.
The Peacocks fought off the Golden Eagles in three sets (21-25, 12-25, 16-25) to get their first win in conference play.
With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 2-9 (0-3 NSIC). The win for the Peacocks improves their record to 9-2 (1-2 NSIC).

Set One
Minnesota Crookston came out of the gates as the better team in set one. The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 4-1 lead, highlighted by kills from sophomore's
Hannah Stark (So., OH, Esko, Minn.) and
Porsha Porath (So., OH, Windom, Minn.).
Minnesota Crookston would extend their lead to 11-4, followed by two-straight attacking errors from the Peacocks.
The Peacocks would fight back with five straight points to make it 11-9, but the Golden Eagles would fight back with two of their own to take a 14-10 lead.
Minnesota Crookston would lead 16-12, before UIU would go on another 5-0 run to take their first lead of the game at 17-16.
The Golden Eagles would tie it at 17 after a
Kaitlin Sikkink (R-Sr., MH, St. Charles, Minn.) kill and again at 18 after a Peacock service error, their one of two in the first set.
After the set was tied at 18, the Peacocks pulled away to win set one, 25-21.
Set Two
Set number two would see the Peacocks play well and used a fast start to win 25-12.
The Peacocks would get off to a quick 6-1 start, before the Golden Eagles used some more Peacock errors to get back in the set at 6-3.
UIU would start to pull away and take a 20-8 lead, and would hold off a Golden Eagle rally to go up in the match, 2-0.
Set Three
In set three, No. 23 Upper Iowa would get out to a blazing start. The Golden Eagles saw themselves trail 8-1 and eventually 14-2 in the third set.
Trailing 22-11, Minnesota Crookston scored three in a row with back-to-back kills from Sikkink and
Sydney Kruisselbrink (Jr., S/DS, Rochester, Minn.) to cut the lead to eight at 22-14.
The Peacocks would hold off the Golden Eagles to win the final set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow afternoon against Winona State from McCown Gymnasium in Winona, Minn. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
