St. Cloud, Minn.—After falling on the road to No. 5 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, the Golden Eagles were back on the road Tuesday night against another ranked team, this time against No. 8 St. Cloud State University.
All three sets started close, but the Huskies would pull away in all three sets to sweep the Golden Eagles in Halenback Hall (14-25, 18-25, 13-25).

Set One
The Golden Eagles got out to a fast 2-1 start with back-to-back kills from
Porsha Porath (So., OH, Windom, Minn.) and
Kaitlin Sikkink (R-Sr., MH, St. Charles, Minn.). The Golden Eagles would double their lead to 4-2 after another kill from Porath and a Huskies attack error.
The Golden Eagles would lead 6-4 after yet another Porath kill and a
Sabrina Leuer (R-Sr., OH, Hamel, Minn.) kill.
The Huskies would score three in a row to take a 7-6 lead, but the run would be halted with a Huskies attack error.
SCSU would once again score three straight, but
Sydney Kruisselbrink (Jr., S, Rochester, Minn.) put an end to the run with her only kill on the night.
The Golden Eagles would get as close as 13-12, after a
Meli Rodriguez (Sr., MH, Sarchi, Costa Rica) service ace.
From that point, the Huskies would pull away and win the first set, 25-14.
Set Two
Once again in set two, the Golden Eagles would have the lead on multiple occasions early on. The Golden Eagles had a lead of 3-2 after a Porath kill and again at 4-3 after a Leuer kill.
The Huskies took a 5-4 lead, but
Deaira Gresham (Jr., OH, Maplewood, Minn.) tied things up after a kill for the maroon and gold.
The second set would stay close, before the Huskies scored three straight to take a 16-10 lead.
Lauren Wallace (R-So., OH, Bloomington, Minn.) would do her best to try and get her team back into it, but the Huskies were able to hold off the pesky Golden Eagles in the set, 25-18.
Set Three
Set three would see four ties through the first eight points, before the Huskies scored four in a row to make it an 8-4 lead, in favor of SCSU.
The Golden Eagles would once again chip away into the lead, using Huskies errors to make it 10-8.
SCSU would stretch the lead to 16-9, which forced a Golden Eagles timeout.
The Huskies would go onto win the third set, 25-13 and the match, three sets to none.
Minnesota Crookston is back at home this weekend for one final time in the 2019 season as they host Upper Iowa and Winona State. First serve with the Peacocks is 6 p.m., on Friday for "90's Night" inside Lysaker Gymnasium.
