Minnesota Crookston Soccer Hosts Winona State and Upper Iowa Saturday and Sunday

CROOKSTON, Minn. -  After a week off due to a cancelled Florida trip, the University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team will return to the pitch this weekend for  pair of NSIC matches at home. The Golden Eagles will look to improve on their 0-3 start against a pair of teams that have struggled to score goals but have also been stingy on their side of the field too.

Minnesota Crookston opened up conference play in their last match, ten days ago, where they were knocked off 3-0 by a Bemidji State program that scored three goals early, before the UM Crookston squad could settle in and play to a scoreless second half.

Junior defender, Jessica Scott (Post Falls, Idaho/Criminal Justice) has led the offensive effort for the Golden Eagles as she has scored the lone goal through the first three matches. Scott has also had five shots on goal, just ahead of frosh forward Maggie Peterson (Princeton, Minn.) who has four shots on goal so far. Goalkeepers Olivia Puttin (So., Rogers, Minn.) and Athena DiMario Done (Fr., Windsor, Ontario) have split time in net with Puttin logging the bulk of the minutes in goal and taking all three losses.
