CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team will trek 88 miles down U.S. Highway 2 for a Halloween showdown with Bemidji State University Tues., Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles and Beavers meet for the second time this season after a thrilling match at Lysaker Gymnasium Sept. 19. Minnesota Crookston battled back down 2-1 to take a 3-2 victory in five sets over Bemidji State.
Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with a 6-17 (3-11 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles are playing some of their best volleyball lately as they are 2-2 in their last four matches. Minnesota Crookston will look to build on the momentum as they take on the Beavers Tuesday. BSU enters with a 3-21 (0-15 NSIC) record as they are still seeking their first conference victory of the 2017 season.

Kassi Green (R-Sr., OH, Anoka, Minn.). Green is currently fourth in the league with 4.08 kills per set. In addition to

Kelci Green (R-Sr., MH, Anoka, Minn.) is averaging 2.12 kills per set and hitting .236 on the season. Deaira Gresham (Fr., OH, Maplewood, Minn.) enters the week tallying 1.57 kills per set.
At setter,
Kaycie Hagen (Sr., S, Savage, Minn.) has been a strong facilitator and back-row player. Hagen is tallying 8.86 assists and 2.89 digs per set on the season.
Defensively,
Maggie Perrel (R-Sr., Lib., New Germany, Minn.) has paced Minnesota Crookston with 3.35 digs per set. In addition,
Becca Vandenheuvel (Sr., DS, Cannon Falls, Minn.) is tallying 2.75 digs per set. The Golden Eagle block looks to
Kelci Green's 0.81 blocks per set, while
Kaitlin Sikkink (R-So., RS, St. Charles, Minn.) is averaging 0.57 blocks per set.
Minnesota Crookston is coming off a split last weekend with a 3-0 victory over Minot State University and a 3-0 loss to University of Mary.
Bemidji State
The Beavers have a very young squad on the 2017 season as they had nine newcomers on the team entering the campaign. Bemidji State is in their second season under Head Coach Kevin Ulmer. The Beavers are hitting .113 on the season with 10.1 kills per set. Offensively, Bemidji State looks to 1.79 kills per set from setter/outside hitter Sami Leach, who also leads the team with 5.17 assists per set. In addition, Mikhaila Ness is tallying 1.75 kills per set, while Anna Averkamp is averaging 1.73 kills per set.
In addition to Leach, Shelby Haney is tallying 4.07 assists per set, while splitting the setter duties.
Defensively, BSU looks to Emma Hallmann's 3.30 digs per set, while Hope Splinter is averaging 2.62 digs per set. On the block, Maddie Filipiak paces the team with 0.81 blocks per set.
The Beavers fell in a pair of 3-0 matches against Minot State and U-Mary last weekend.
