BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston had 25 student-athletes named 2016 NSIC Spring All-Academic as announced by the conference office Wednesday. The Golden Eagles were led by nine UMC softball players named All-Academic, which included all seven seniors.

Bailey Braatz (Jr., RHP, Buffalo, Minn.),
Jordyn Derflinger (Sr., Henderson, Nev.),
Allison Foley (Sr., Lockport, Ill.),
Ashley Hoyle (Sr., Blaine, Minn.),
Alexis Khoshaba (Sr., Richmond, British Columbia),
Kristi Larson (Sr., New Ulm, Minn.) and
Brooke Timmins (Sr., Magnolia, Texas) all earned the honor for Golden Eagle softball.
The Golden Eagle baseball team was represented by eight student athletes:
Mitchell Bornhauser (So., Northfield, Minn.),
Trevor Buttermore (Sr., North St. Paul, Minn.), Marcus Campbell (Sr., St. Croix Falls, Wis.),
Colton Haight (Sr., Rogers, Minn.),
Wyatt Huso (R-So., Eagan, Minn.),
Ethan Mushitz (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.),
Dalton Parks (Sr., West Valley City, Utah) and
Nolan Wahlberg (Sr., Blaine, Minn.).
Seth Heppner (Sr., Crookston, Minn.) earned recognition from the UMC men's golf team. The UMC women's golf squad was represented by
Baillee Hauser (Jr., Raymond, Minn.),
Ashlee Humble (So., Rosemount, Minn.),
Rikki Roscoe (Sr., Big Stone City, S.D.) and
Katie Sheetz (Sr., Grand Rapids, Minn.). For the UMC women's tennis team
Catherine Brown (Sr., Powell Butte, Ore.),
Nikki Dogan (So., Grand Forks, Minn.) and
Whitney Erickson (So., Spring Valley, Minn.) earned recognition.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced that 672 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic Teams honors for the 2016 spring athletic season. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, the athlete must have reached So. athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
