BURNSVILLE, Minn. – University of Minnesota Crookston football players Adam Connette (Jr., WR, Corona, Calif.) and Will Cross (R-Fr., LB, Turtle Lake, Wis.) were named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division All-Conference Honorable Mention.
 
Connette was named All-NSIC Second Team as a sophomore. Connette had his best season as a Golden Eagle in 2016 as he set single-season receiving records with 72 catches for 760 yards and five touchdowns. Earlier this season, Connette set the mark for all-time receptions and receiving yards, surpassing Mark Olsonawski and Carl Aho. Connette has 177 career receptions for 2,059 yards. He still has one year remaining with the Golden Eagles.
 
Cross is a first-time All-NSIC honoree. The linebacker led the Golden Eagles with 90 tackles in his first season playing for UMC. Cross had seven tackles for loss and a half sack. He also had one interception on the season. His best game came with 18 tackles against University of Mary. He tallied 12 tackles against Southwest Minnesota State University. Cross will look to help anchor the defense for years to come as he still has three years to play for the Golden Eagles. 

Trey Heid of Augustana University was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Year. Beau Bates of University of Minnesota Duluth earned NSIC Defensive Player o the Year. Max Simmons of Southwest Minnesota State University earned NSIC Offensive Newcomer of the Year. Delvin Batiste of Sioux Falls was named NSIC Defensive Newcomer of the Year. Jed Stugart of Sioux Falls earned NSIC Coach of the Year.
