Box Score Duluth, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team wrapped up the road portion of their 2016 schedule with a 4-0 loss to the Bulldogs of the University of Minnesota Duluth, Friday evening.
The Golden Eagles were outshot 14-2 in the conference loss. Senior forward
Kallie Gau (Monticello, Minn./Early Childhood and Elementary Education) was the only UMC player to register shots with one of the two making it on net. Senior goalkeeper
Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wisc./Criminal Justice) got the start in goal where she surrendered all four UMD goals all while making five saves. Gauger's season record drops to 2-8-2 between the pipes.
The Bulldogs scored all four of their goals in the first half, three of which came in a ten-minute span. The first was sent in from 20 yards out and a scramble in front of the net was finished off by Kailey Beatt (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) in the third minute of play. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 8-5-4, 6-4-4 in NSIC play.
The 3-12-2, 2-10-2 NSIC, Golden Eagles will wrap up their 2016 season on Sunday when they host St. Cloud State University (6-7-4, 5-5-4) in Crookston. The Huskies are coming off a 1-0 loss to Bemidji State University. The conference match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
