Crookston, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team returns home this weekend for a pair of NSIC games as they host Minot State University on Saturday, then quickly turn things around for a match with the University of Mary on Sunday.
The 0-3-1 Golden Eagles need to put some balls in the net this weekend as they were shut out in both of their nonconference matches last weekend. Head coach,
Joe Alianiello will have to juggle his starting lineup a little as players are returning to the lineup after minor injuries, while a couple other players are a little banged up and need some time off.
In the opening match of the weekend, UMC will look to improve on their 0-1 conference mark when they take on a BSU team that sits at 3-2 overall, 1-0 in NSIC play. The Beavers are led by Ninfa Ramirez (Jr., Perris, Calif.) who has three total goals and Taryn Love (Fr., Minot, N.D.) who picked up her first two goals of the season in a 3-2 win over the University of Mary on Tuesday.
The Marauders will hit the pitch in Crookston on Sunday and they have a current record of 0-2-1, 0-1 in conference. They too have struggled to put up numbers on the scoreboard but have been led by Megan Searson (Jr., Blackburn, England) who has notched the team's only two goals of 2015.
Both conference matches are scheduled to start at 1:00 pm on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.
