Crookston, Minn.- The Golden Eagle soccer team hits the road for a pair of NSIC games this weekend, the first will be a Saturday tilt versus Minnesota State University Moorhead at noon, followed by a Sunday afternoon game at Northern State University scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
 
The MSUM Dragons enter the weekend match with a record of 1-7-3, 1-7-1 in conference action. A lack of scoring has been the trouble for MSUM as they have only netted three goals in 2015, through their 11 games played. The Golden Eagles have been stingy on defense only allowing just over one goal per game in conference play so they will need to keep up with the trend to earn some points and move up in the conference standings.
 
Sunday's game in Aberdeen, South Dakota will be a bigger test for UMC as they take on a Wolves team that has been scoring, but also giving up a lot of goals. NSU has a record of 4-7-1, 2-6-1 in the NSIC and features a pair of players that are leading the offensive charge. Anna Bondy (Jr., Pierre, S.D.) has scored six goals and assisted on two, while Darian Leschewski (Fr., Cape Coral, Fla.) has scored four goals.
 
UMC defender, Ellie Brettschneider (So., Lakeville, Minn.) scored her second goal of the 2015 campaign last weekend and she joins both Courtney Armborst (Sr., West St. Paul, Minn./Biology) and Delaney McIntyre (Sr., Flin Flon, Manitoba/Sport and Recreation Management) who are also multi-goal scorers this season.
 
UMC (3-8-1, 3-6) will play their next five games on the road and they currently sit in 11^th place in the NSIC. With a log jam in the middle of the conference, the Golden Eagles could move up three or four spots with a pair of wins.
