CROOKSTON, Minn.- The Golden Eagles soccer team looks to build on their current three-game unbeaten streak as they take the road for a pair of NSIC games this weekend in St. Paul and Mankato. In their first stop at Concordia University, St. Paul, the Golden Eagles will take on a Golden Bear team that has an overall record of 1-4, 1-2 in conference play.
Senior midfielder,
Erin Mears (Sioux Falls, S.D.,/Criminal Justice) will lead the way as she is coming off a great weekend where she scored the game winner at Minot State University and the lone UMC goal in their 1-1 tie at University of Mary. Friday's night game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul.
UMC will take on an undefeated Minnesota State University (6-0, 3-0), the second-ranked team in the nation on Sunday. The Maverick defensive core has been solid in their first six games only allowing one goal. The Golden Eagle's sophomore goalkeeper,
Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) has also been strong as of late as she has only allowed a pair of goals during the three-game stretch. Kickoff at The Pitch in Mankato is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
