Box Score HOUGHTON, Mich. – The UMC soccer team hit the road for a pair of nonconference games this weekend with the first stop at Michigan Tech University, Friday night. The Golden Eagles opened up the game's scoring but the 1-0 lead wasn't enough as they were topped, 2-1 in Houghton.

Delaney McIntyre (Flin Flon, Manitoba/Sports and Rec Management) got the Golden Eagles on the board as she banged home a close in pass from
Beth Lastovich (Fr., MF, White Bear Lake, Minn./Health Sciences). The lone UMC goal came in the game's fourth minute of play and held up until early in the second period when MTU's Sarah Boyd (Fr., MF, Green Bay, Wis.) notched things up at 1-1. The final goal of the contest was Michigan Tech's winner in the 75th minute of play as Janelle Reidl (Jr., MF, Appleton, Wis.) got a header past UMC keeper
Lexie Gauger (So., Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) who made four total saves in the loss.
UMC's goal signifies their 10th goal of the season tying their overall total for the 2013 season, just three games into the 2014 slate.
The 1-2 Golden Eagles will get a day off tomorrow before playing their second game of the weekend road trip at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. The morning contest is scheduled to start at
11:00 am.
