
CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston football team will play hit the road for the first time this season as they head to Marshall, Minn. to face-off with the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs at 6 p.m. at Mattke Field at Schwan Regional Events Center. The Golden Eagles and Mustangs both come into the game with an 0-1 mark on the season after UMC lost to Augustana College (S.D.) and SMSU lost to University of Mary.

The Golden Eagles won the last game in the series, snapping a four-year long skid in the NSIC with a 33-28 win over SMSU in Crookston, Minn. in 2012. UMC has won three more conference games since then.Â
