Box Score CROOKSTON, Minn.- The UMC soccer team picked up a home conference win for the second day in a row as they upset #20 Augustana, 1-0, in NSIC play Sunday afternoon. The win ups the Golden Eagles overall record to 4-3-3, 3-2-2 in conference play and they are proving to be a force at home as their record in Crookston improves to 3-1.

UMC outshot the Vikings 4-1 in the first half with Augustana's only shot coming in the final 30 seconds of the period. Crookston had a pair of quality chances of their own but their team defense would be the difference in the game as the Golden Eagles controlled the ball through most of the 90 minute match.

The lone goal of the conference match came a few minutes into the second half as frosh forward,
Miranda Mosher (Watertown, Minn.) banged home a rebound in the 48
th minute of play. The goal was set up by senior defender,
Rachelle Alcini (Ann Arbor, Mich./Health Sciences) as she too had a chance during the brief flurry of action in front of the Viking's net.

On the day, UMC outshot Augustana 8-4 and
Kallie Gau (Monticello, Minn.) earned the shutout in her first start in goal this season. The sophomore keeper made a pair of saves in the win.

The Golden Eagles will hit the road next weekend when they travel to the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday then play at Southwest Minnesota State University on Sunday.Â
