Box Score CROOKSTON, Minn.- The UMC soccer team earned a pair of points this weekend as they tied Upper Iowa University, 0-0, on Friday and had the same outcome on Sunday afternoon as they wrapped the weekend up with a 0-0 tie versus #18 Winona State University.

Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) had a busy day on Sunday, but she was in position on each and every Warrior chance, making ten total saves. The Golden Eagles were outshot 17-7 in the conference match, but Gauger stepped up her effort as she backstopped the team against the ranked opponent. Team defense was a big part of the Golden Eagles two-point weekend and both
Delaney McIntyre (Jr., Flin Flon, Manitoba/Sport and Rec Management) and
Rachelle Alcini (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Health Sciences) were buzzing around the ball to help out on their end of the field.
With the two ties, the Golden Eagles sit in a tie for the final playoff spot, with Minot State University, and two points behind University of Minnesota Duluth who are in the seventh place in the NSIC standings. The UMC squad has a pair of games left as they travel to St. Cloud State University on the 31
st then close out the 2014 regular season, at home, with a Sunday afternoon match against University of Minnesota Duluth.
