CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles will return home to face St. Cloud State University at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Ed Widseth Field. The Golden Eagles are looking to get their first win of the season as they are 0-4 thus far. Saturday's game will be the first for UMC within the NSIC North division. St. Cloud State has also gotten off to an unusually slow start for the 2014 season, as they are 1-3 overall with their lone win over Wayne State College (Neb.). Saturday will also be the Ed Widseth/Agassiz Bowl Scholarship game.

Previewing the Golden Eagles   The Golden Eagles are 0-4 overall on the season.
Ben Bucholz, a former St. Cloud State University basketball player, continues to lead the charge at quarterback for the Golden Eagles. Bucholz is 64-of-118 for 618 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions. His top target has been freshman
Adam Connette, who has 18 catches for 179 yards with one touchdown this season. In addition, fellow freshman
Jordan Hester has 13 grabs for 130 yards and two touchdowns, while
Jacob Pinder has 11 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. In the running game,
Talo Pascal has slowly gotten going. He has 43 rushes for 173 yards.
   Defensively, linebacker
Greg Lofquist has had a great start to his senior year with 50 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one interception.
Trent Galkoski has also played well with 31 tackles and one intercpetion, while
Drew Selvestra has 27 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Previewing the Huskies   St. Cloud State is 0-4 on the 2014 season. The Huskies had to replace all-time passing leader Phillip Klaphake, who is now a graduate assistant. Nate Meyer has taken over the starting role, and is 26-of-63 for 313 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions. With a new quarterback, SCSU has looked more to their running game this year. Ledell White leads the way with 58 rushes for 326 yards with four touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker has 40 rushes for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Matt Hentges has been Meyer's top target, with 11 catches for 126 yards.
   Defensively, linebacker Adam Josephson leads the way with 35 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss, while Brady Westart has 27 tackles. Former UMC basketball player Kyle Risinger has 27 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. Defensive end Bo Putrah comes in with 17 tackles, 5.0 TFL and one sack.
