Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) and Wayne State College (WSC) each scored one goal in the first half but held each other scoreless the rest of the way as the two squads settled for a 1-1 double overtime tie in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action today in Wayne, Neb.
The Golden Eagles got on the board first at 19:17 when
Taylor Peterson (Fr, M, Bismarck, N.D./Equine Science-Pre-Vet.) scored an unassisted goal off a deflection. The Wildcats countered at 23:11 when Kelly Voigt scored on a free kick. She was assisted by Macy Hagen.
That was to be it as both goalkeepers kept the respective opponents out of the net. WSC's Kylie Comba recorded four saves.
Lexie Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) recorded four saves for UMC.
The Wildcats have an overall record of 1-5-1 and NSIC record of 1-2-1. The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 2-4-1 and NSIC record of 0-3-1.
UMC returns to NSIC action tomorrow at Augustana College. The match begins at 1 p.m.
