Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) erupted for three goals in just under 11 minutes in the first half and defeated the University of Minnesota Crookston (NSIC) 3-1 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match today in Duluth, Minn. It was the season finale for the Golden Eagles.
The Bulldogs got on the board at 25:40 when Kelli Klun scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Maureen Stormont. UMD added to their total at 31:55 when Riley Allen scored her second goal of the season by taking Hannah Keil's assist. Keil got into the goal column at 36:08 when she scored to make the lead 3-0 going into the half.
UMC played much more aggressive in the second half and got on the board at 64:20 when
Erin Mears (Jr, M, Sioux Falls, S.D./Criminal Justice) scored her first goal of the season in unassisted fashion. This made the final score 3-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Lexie Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice-Corrections) recorded seven saves for the Golden Eagles. UMD's Marissa Rosa recorded five saves.
The Bulldogs improve to 13-4-0 overall and 12-3-0 in the NSIC. UMC ends the season at 3-11-4 overall and 1-10-4 in the NSIC.
