Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women's Soccer team battled to its second straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tie today. The Golden Eagles and the University of Mary (U-Mary) played a tightly contested match but settled for 0-0 double overtime tie on a cold, blustery day at the UMC Soccer Field. The match was marred by 39 fouls. The Marauders picked up 21 while UMC received 18.
Lexi Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) was stout in net recording four saves over her 110 minutes. Combined with yesterday's shutout, she recorded 220 scoreless minutes on the weekend with eight saves. She has also recorded four shutouts on the season.
Her counterpart for U-Mary, Shelby Buttron, was equally impressive recording four saves as well.
UMC's overall record now stands at 3-9-4 overall and 1-8-4 in the NSIC. The Marauders now hold an overall record of 3-10-3 and NSIC record of 3-7-3.
The Golden Eagles close out the season with a pair of split NSIC matches next weekend. UMC will host St. State University on Friday, November 1 at 3 p.m. They then travel to the University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, November 3 for a 1 p.m. match.
