UMC Football Team Defeats New Flyer of America Team as Part of United Way of Crookston/New Flyer of America Community Bus Pull

CROOKSTON, Minn. - Members of the University of Minnesota Crookston football team competed against staff members from New Flyer of America Inc. Monday morning at New Flyer in Crookston, Minn. in the United Way of Crookston/New Flyer of America Crookston Community Bus Pull. The UMC football team had defeated other teams from around the Crookston community the week prior to win the trophy and earn a chance to compete against New Flyer of America.

The Golden Eagles pulled the bus 60 feet in 11.66 seconds to defeat New Flyer of America. The team was composed of 12 football players including Jacob Pinder (Jr., TE, Orlando, Fla.) and Tyler Bos (Sr., DL, Larchwood, Iowa), who were on the team who won the trophy the previous week. Also competing for UMC were  John Mitzel (Fr., OL, Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Anthony Fish (Jr., OL, Warroad, Minn.), Kevin Williams (Jr., FB, Houston, Texas), Jeff Pryor (Sr., OL, Havana, Ill.), Tyman Hayashi (Fr., OL, Kalihi, Hawai'i), Nicholas Exposito (So., TE, Woodbridge, Va.), Drew McDurmin (Fr., OL, Aiea, Hawai'i), Tanner Walsh (R-Fr., DB, Gaylord, Minn.), Kalil Wilson (Fr., DB, Honolulu, Hawai'i) and Landon Cook (Fr., LB, San Clemente, Calif.).

New Flyer of America, Inc. presented the United Way of Crookston with a $5,000 check during the bus pull. The University of Minnesota Crookston is also currently working on their own campaign with donations toward the United Way of Crookston with a goal of $11,000.
