(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women's Soccer team will host Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 for UMC Homecoming Weekend. The Golden Eagles face the University of Sioux Falls (USF) at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both matches will be held at the UMC Soccer Field.
The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 2-5-1 and NSIC record of 0-4-1 after settling for a 1-1 double overtime tie at Wayne State College this past Saturday and dropping a 2-0 decision at Augustana College this past Sunday. UMC is led by
Nikki Hammond (Sr, F, Nelson, Minn./Health Sciences) who has scored two goals for four points.
Rachel Halligan (Sr, D, Duluth, Minn./Early Childhood Education) has scored one goal and added one assist for three points.
Lexie Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) has a 1.36 goals against average and a .808 saves percentage.
Golden Eagles vs. University of Sioux Falls Saturday, October 5 11 a.m.
The Cougars have an overall record of 0-7-1 and NSIC record of 0-5-1 after losing 2-1 to the University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday and settling for a 0-0 double overtime tie with St. Cloud State University on Sunday. Maria Gonzalez has scored two goals and added one assist for five points. Corrin Cook has a 2.02 goals against average and a .725 saves percentage.
Golden Eagles vs. Southwest Minnesota State Sunday, October 6 1 p.m.
The Mustangs have an overall record of 8-0-0 and NSIC record of 5-0-0 after defeating St. Cloud State University (1-0) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (3-0) this past weekend. SMSU was ranked 18th in the last National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Continental Tire Division II poll. It was their first ever national ranking. The Mustangs are led by Miranda Cadena who has scored five goals and added three assists for 13 points. Autumn Hayes has scored three goals and added three assists for nine points. Kendahl Fisher has scored two goals and added three assists for seven points. Brienna Dehkes has 0.38 goals against average and a .925 saves percentage. She has also recorded five shutouts.
