Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Upper Iowa University scored three consecutive goals and broke open a tie game with two second-half goals to defeat the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) 3-1 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match today in Fayette, Iowa. The win gives the Peacocks an overall record of 10-3-0 and NSIC record of 8-2-0. The Golden Eagles now have an overall record of 3-8-2 and NSIC record of 1-7-2.
UMC got on the board first at 13:28 when
Kelah Peterson (Jr, F, Bismarck, N.D./Elementary Education) scored an unassisted goal. The Peacocks countered scoring the next three goals. Loren Rohrmeier scored off a header at 40:26 to tie the game. She was assisted by Aimee Wronski and Kelsey Taldone. Upper Iowa went up 2-0 at 76:22 when Wronski scored off an assist from Madie Edwards. The Peacocks closed out the scoring at 83:36 when Edwards scored to make the final tally 3-1.
Kaitlyn Emanuel picked up the victory in net recording two saves.
Lexie Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) recorded four saves for the Golden Eagles.
UMC returns to NSIC action on Sunday, October 20 when they travel to Winona State University. The match begins at 12 p.m.
