Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Tiffany Van Haaften scored a goal on a header off a corner kick from the left side at 47:32 of the game as Bemidji State University (BSU) edged the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 1-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match today in Crookston, Minn. She was assisted by Abigail Nyquist.

UMC looked to have scored a goal in the second half after going down 1-0 as Erin Mears (So, Sioux Falls, S.D.) played a ball from just beyond midfield to the box. The ball was mishandled by BSU goalkeeper Brittany Tietz and Jensen Crots (Sr, D, Chesterton, Ind.) put it in net. However, Crots was called for being offside.

Sonja Barr and Brittany Tietz combined on a shutout for the Beavers. Barr stopped both Golden Eagle shots.

Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded two saves on three BSU shots for UMC.

The Beavers improve to 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the NSIC.

UMC returns to NSIC action on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 when they travel to Minnesota State University and Concordia University, St. Paul respectively. Both games begin at 1 p.m.
