MSU Moorhead Downs UMC 2-0 in Non-Conference Women’s Soccer Match

Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) broke a scoreless deadlock with two second half goals and defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 2-0 in a women's soccer match today in Moorhead, Minn. It was a non-conference match between the two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) schools.

MSUM got on the board at 64:57 when Isabel Nymen scored an unassisted goal. Alyson Beare closed out the scoring for the Dragons at 89:34 when she scored off an assist from Lizzy Hanks.

Ashley Leintz recorded six saves to gain the shutout victory in net. Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded three saves for the Golden Eagles.

MSUM improves to 1-2-0 on the season. UMC falls to 0-3-0.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday, September 9 when they host Bemidji State University in their NSIC opener. The match begins at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
