UMC Women’s Soccer Team Returns to Action with Two Matches This Week

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Women's Soccer team begins Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play this weekend. Prior to that, the Golden Eagles will travel to Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 5 for a 5 p.m. match.

UMC returns home on Sunday, September 9  for their first NSIC game of the season when they host Bemidji State University (BSU) beginning at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 0-2-0 after dropping a hard fought 1-0 decision to Michigan Tech University on Saturday and a 2-0 decision Northern Michigan University on Monday. Both games were non-conference match-ups.

Golden Eagles @ MSU Moorhead            Wednesday, September 5        5 p.m.

The Dragons have an overall record of 0-2-0 and NSIC record of 0-2-0. They dropped a 7-1 decision at Minot State University on August 30 before dropping a 2-1 decision to St. Cloud State University at home on September 2. Erin Nyberg and Shenae Morical each have a scored goal for two points for MSUM.

Golden Eagles vs. Bemidji State University    Sunday, September 9            1 p.m.    

The Beavers have an overall record of 2-0-0 after defeating Northern Michigan University 1-0 on September 1 and Michigan Tech University 3-2 in overtime on September 2. Both contests were played at home. BSU travels to North Dakota State University on Friday, September 8 for a non-conference match with the Bison.

The Beavers are led by Jessie Voeller who has scored one goal and added two assists for four points. Tiffany Van Haaften, Mary O'Brien and Maria Mcleod each have scored one goal and added one assist for three points. Sonja Barr and Brittany Tietz are each 1-0-0 in net. Bar has a 0.00 goals against average and 1.000 saves percentage. Tietz has a 3.64 goals against average and a .714 saves percentage.
