Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Northern Michigan University's (NMU) Hailey Beyrand scored an unassisted goal at 89:30 of the contest as the Wildcats sealed a 2-0 non-conference victory today against the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) at the UMC Soccer Field.

NMU took a 1-0 lead 5:29 into the game when Gabriella Garza put the ball in the upper left corner of the goal past Golden Eagle goalkeeper Ashleigh Erdmann (So, GK, Crookston, Minn.) to take a 1-0 lead. She was assisted by Brekelle Sellers.

UMC's defense was stingy from there playing solid allowing ten Wildcat shots (eight on goal) and one more goal. They also created opportunities for themselves recording ten shots (six on goal).

NMU's Shelby Conard recorded six saves on six shots on goal. UMC's Erdmann recorded six saves on eight shots on goal in her first collegiate start in net.

The Wildcats improve to 1-2-0 overall. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-2-0 overall.

UMC returns to action with a pair of games this week. The Golden Eagles travel to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, September 5 for a non-conference match at 5 p.m. UMC opens NSIC play on Sunday, September 9 at 1 p.m. when they host Bemidji State University at the UMC Soccer Field.
