Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Minnesota State University (MSU) scored three goals in the first half on their way to a 3-1 victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action today in Mankato, Minn.
MSU got on the board at 25:11 when Catlin Graboski scored off a corner kick from Cassie Weik. WeikA was credited with the assist. The Mavericks made the score 2-0 at 40:36 when Haley Petterson scored of a corner kick from Lianna Morrow. Morrow was credited with the assist. MSU closed out their scoring at 43:22 when Jessica Bowe scored off assists from Kortney Kronforst and Sydney Temple.
The Golden Eagles got on the board at 71:03 when
Carly Mirwaldt (Sr, M, Fort Wayne, Ind.) scored off a rebound. She was assisted by
Rachel Halligan (Jr, D, Duluth, Minn.) and
Megan Flynn (Sr, D, Chanhassen, Minn.).
Lauren Hoeppner and Molly McGough each played a half in net for MSU. Hoppener recorded one save while McGough recorded two saves.
Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded a season-high 11saves for the Golden Eagles.
The Mavericks improve to 3-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the NSIC. UMC falls to 0-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC play on Sunday, September 16 when they travel to Concordia University, St. Paul. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
