In two games this season, the University of Minnesota, Crookston has already scored two defensive touchdowns.
Marcus Galan returned an interception 85 yards to the end zone against Winona State and
Ricky Jacobs returned an interception 10 yards to pay dirt versus Concordia-St. Paul. The Golden Eagles will look to continue this trend this weekend against Augustana.

First Half Shutdown
The Golden Eagles limited the Golden Bears to only 102 yards of offense in the first half after Concordia-St. Paul had over 500 yards the week prior against U-Mary. The Golden Bears had only 104 yards on the ground and -2 yards passing. In addition, the Golden Eagles stopped the Golden Bears six times of third downs. UMC will look to build on their first-half performance against CSP as they head to Augie this weekend.

Ending The Skid
The Golden Eagles are looking to end their NSIC losing streak this weekend as they haven't won a conference game since Sept. 27, 2008 against Minnesota State University, Moorhead. It has been 36 conference games since the last NSIC victory for UMC.

Run Young Man, Run
Richard Haley, a
2012 Beyond College Sports Network Preseason All-America pick, rushed for 186 yards last weekend against Concordia-St. Paul. He was part of a rushing attack that accumulated over 300 yards on the ground along with A.J. Barge who ran for 59 yards and
Keith McBride who had 52 yards on the day. Haley currently ranks 18th in the nation in rushing and 33rd in all-purpose runners.

The Game
The University of Minnesota, Crookston will look to rebound against Augustana College after a tough loss to Concordia University, St. Paul after leading 16-3 at halftime. The Golden Eagles showed promise defensively and on the ground for the most of the game and will look to put together a full game in both facets against the Vikings.
Minnesota, Crookston
UMC comes in with an 0-2 (0-2 NSIC) record as they take on Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. The University of Minnesota, Crookston looks to be led by
Richard Haley (Sr., RB, Detroit, Mich.), the 2011 NSIC North Division All-Conference First Team pick. Haley rushed for 186 yards last weekend. The Golden Eagles had over 300 yards of rushing last weekend with Haley's performance along with over 50 yards rushing apiece from A.J. Barge (So., QB, Carrollton, Ga.) and
Keith McBride (Sr., RB, Lodi, Wis.). In the passing game, Barge will look to improve after completing 14-of-28 for 89 yards and a touchdown. He completed his first touchdown of the season in the air to freshman
Josh Ross (WR, Palmdale, Calif.) in the second quarter.
Defensively,
Cecil Brown, Jr. (Sr., DB, Edison, Ga.) has tallied 11 tackles in both games this season to lead UMC. Brown, Jr. looks poised to be a presence all over the field against Augustana Sunday. In addition, watch out for junior linebacker
Ricky Jacobs (LB, Junction City, Kan.) who had a strong game last Saturday with a 10-yard interception for a touchdown along with six tackles and one tackle for loss.
Brody Davidson (So., LB, Crookston, Minn.) also looks to be a force on defense after tallying nine tackles. On the defensive line,
Drew Selvestra (So., Eagan, Minn.) leads the way after making seven tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss last weekend.
In the kicking game,
Stephen Henderson (Sr., TE/K, Chatsworth, Calif.) connected on a 37 yarder last weekend against Concordia-St. Paul. Punter
Chris Secrest (Sr., K/P, Hollywood, Fla.) comes in averaging 30.8 yards per punt.
Augustana
Augustana College is 1-1 on the season after defeating Northern State University in week one and suffering a tough loss to University of Mary, 31-25, last weekend.
Offensively, Augustana is led by Josh Hanson, a
2011 All-NSIC South Division Second Team pick. Hanson has already accumulated 566 yards through the air and is 41-of-77 with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Hanson's top target in the passing game has been 6-0 sophomore wide receiver Grant Gebhardt, who has 12 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns. Also watch for Hanson to utilize Ben Parsley and Noah Huisman in the pass game. On the ground,
All-NSIC South Division Second Team pick Dajon Newell has picked 197 yards on the ground in two games.
Defensively, Austin Luecke, an
All-NSIC South Division First Team selection, leads the team with 24 tackles with two tackles for loss and one sack this season. Defensive Back Thomas Vanasek is second on the team in tackles. Sean Kelly, also a defensive back, has one interception for Augustana this season.

• Augustana and UMC last played in 2009 with the Vikings winning 49-0. UMC has lost the last four contests dating back to 2004.
• Paul Miller is seeking his first victory as head coach of UMC.
