Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Michigan Tech University's (MTU) Amanda Whiting scored a goal with just under nine minutes to play as the Huskies defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 1-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match today in Crookston, Minn.
Whiting took a pass from Lindsey Van Rooy at 80:15 and bounced the ball in off the far post for the goal. Jenna Phelps had two saves on two shots on goal for the Huskies who start the season at 1-0-0.
Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) stopped five Michigan Tech shots for the Golden Eagles who start the season at 0-1-0.
UMC returns to action with another non-conference home game against Northern Michigan University on Monday, September 3. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
