Golden Eagles Drop Hard-Fought Season Finale to St. Cloud State University 1-0

Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Michelle Cornell scored off a corner kick from 19 yards at 54:36 out as St. Cloud State University (SCSU) defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 1-0 today in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match in St. Cloud, Minn. Cornell was assisted by Faith Bila.

Kenzie Hanzlik recorded the shutout for the Huskies stopping two UMC shots. Ashleigh Erdmann (So, GK, Crookston, Minn.) recorded three saves for the Golden Eagles.

SCSU improves to 9-7-2 overall and 8-6-1 in the NSIC. UMC closes out the 2012 season at 2-15-1 overall and 2-12-1 in the NSIC.

The Golden Eagles bid farewell to five seniors. Carly Mirwaldt (Sr, M, Ft. Wayne, Ind.), Amye Berg (Sr, D, Lino Lakes, Minn.), Megan Flynn (Sr, D, Chanhassen, Minn.), Jensen Crots (Sr, D, Chesterton, Ind.) and Amanda Crook (Sr, D, Brandon, Manitoba) played their final game for UMC.
