Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Maureen Stormont scored three straight goals as the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 4-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match today in Crookston, Minn.
Hannah Keil got the Bulldogs on the board just 4:08 into the game off an assist from Kelsey Gratz. Stormont made the score 2-0 at 39:04 when she was assisted by Keil and Kelli Klun.
The second half saw more from Stormont and the Bulldogs as she found the net again at 53:45 off assists from Dani Potter and Jennifer Smith. Stormont closed out her outstanding day and made the final score 4-0 with her third consecutive goal at 67:28. Potter assisted for the second time.
Marissa Rosa and Hannah Iaizzo split time in goal with Iaizzo stopping both of UMC's shots.
Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded six saves for the Golden Eagles.
UMD improves to 8-6-2 overall and 7-5-2 in the NSIC. UMC falls to 2-14-1 overall and 2-11-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles close out the 2012 season on Sunday, October 29 when they travel to St. Cloud State University. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
