Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – Minot State University (Minot) scored four second half goals and defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 5-0 today in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match in Minot, N.D.
The Beavers took a 1-0 lead into halftime as Lexi Kidd scored an unassisted goal at 19:50. The second half saw Minot score early and often. Tara McPartland scored an unassisted goal off a loose ball from the corner at 46:43. Jamie MacFarlane made the score 3-0 at 50:22 when she was assisted by Zoe Fisher. McPartland scored her second goal of the game off a corner kick at 52:41 to make the score 4-0. She was aided by Fisher's second assist. Taylor Bachman-Williams closed out the scoring making the final score 5-0 at 62:39. She was assisted by Nicolette Newcomb.
Marie Torres recorded 54 minutes in net for the Beavers who improve to 12-3-1 overall and 10-3-0 in the NSIC. She was relieved by Ashley Barsczewski who played 36 minutes.
Ashley Erdmann (So, GK, Crookston, Minn.) played 90 minutes in net recording 11 saves for the Golden Eagles who fall to 2-13-1 overall and 2-10-1 in the NSIC.
UMC closes out their season on Friday, October 26 when they host the University of Minnesota Duluth at 3 p.m. and Sunday, October 28 when they travel to St. Cloud State University for a 1 p.m. contest.
