Marauders Explode for Five First-Half Goals in 5-1 Win Over University of Minnesota, Crookston

Box Score (Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Mary (U-Mary) exploded for five goals in the first half and went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) 5-1 today in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer match in Mandan, N.D.

The Marauders showed their offensive superiority early on when Andrea Muller scored off a rebound at 1:16 to make the score 1-0. She was assisted by Ashley Tuschling. Alex Bachman-Williams made the score 2-0 at 3:00 when she scored off a shot from the right side and 20 yards out. She was assisted by Dayna Domingo. U-Mary continued their offensive barrage at 7:52 when Tuschling got into the goal column as she scored off a header off a corner kick. She was assisted by Michelle Jones. Bachman-Williams tallied her second goal of the game at 21:03. She was assisted by Destiny Glaser. Jaquelyn Smith closed out the scoring for the Marauders at 43:35 when she was assisted by Quin Glaser.

UMC scored its lone goal at 58:08 when Elizabeth Busch (Fr, M, Sioux Falls, S.D.) knocked in a goal off a rebound. She was assisted by Amye Berg (Sr, D, Lino Lakes, Minn.).

Ashley Akers recorded five saves for U-Mary who improves to 7-7-0 overall and 7-5-0 in the NSIC. Drew Underdahl (So, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded two saves for the Golden Eagles who fall to 2-12-1 overall and 2-9-1 in the NSIC.

UMC returns to NSIC action on Sunday, October 21 when they travel to Minot State University. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
