(Crookston, Minn.)-  The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced this afternoon the Golden Eagle running back Richard Haley (RB, 6-0, 205, Jr., Detroit, Mich.) has been named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against MSU Moorhead on Saturday, September 24.
 
Haley rushed 43 times, third all-time in UMC history, for 237 yards in a 22-29 overtime loss at MSU Moorhead. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry, scored a touchdown and added a long run of 33 yards. This marks the second time this season Haley has rushed for over 200 yards (225 vs. Mayville State) while averaging 176 rushing yards per game. He currently ranks third in all of NCAA Division II in rushing and will likely move up after his performance against the Dragons.
 
Minnesota, Crookston hosts the University of Mary on Saturday, October 2 in UMC's Homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Ed Widseth Field.
