Golden Eagles Women’s Soccer Team Hosts Two NSIC Games Over Homecoming Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer team returns home for two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) contests over homecoming weekend on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2. The Golden Eagles host Northern State University (NSU) on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the University of Mary (U-Mary) on Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m.

U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 1-8-0 and NSIC record of 0-4-0 after dropping a 1-0 game at Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday and a 3-0 decision at St. Cloud State University on Sunday. Nikki Hammond (So, F, Nelson, Minn.) leads the Golden Eagles having scored two goals for four points. Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) has a 2.26 goals against average and a .775 saves percentage.

Golden Eagles vs. Northern State University        Saturday, October 1            11 a.m.

The Wolves have an overall record of 4-5-0 and NSIC record of 1-3-0 after dropping contests to Minnesota State University (5-0) and Southwest Minnesota State University (3-0) this past Friday and Sunday respectively. NSU is led by Rachel Goslinga who has scored six goals and added three assists for 15 points. Ashley Elliot has added four goals for eight points. Shaina Stein has a 2.13 goals against average and a .750 saves percentage.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Mary            Sunday, October 2            1 p.m.

The Maruaders have an overall record of 5-4-0 and NSIC record of 2-2-0 after dropping games to Southwest Minnesota State University (2-1) and Minnesota State University (4-1) this past weekend. U-Mary is led by Michelle Jones who has scored four goals and added two assists for ten points. Alex Bachman-Williams has scored two goals and added two goals and three assists for seven points. Ashley Akers has a 1.11 goals against average and a .811 saves percentage.
